Water Leak - Main Break
DC Water will investigate water leaking inside and/or outside of public space. Most leaks are commonly reported in the roadway, sidewalk or front yard of property when a pipe ruptures and leaking water is idle.

Leak in Street
Refers to water forcefully releasing from the public water system through a public thoroughfare (sidewalk, roadway, or alley). Commonly reported as a break, hole, or crack, in the street.
Leak outside property
Refers to water that is forcefully exiting the water system outside property. Commonly reported as broken pipes or leaking water meter.
